Agritech firm Tabula is marking 20 years in business with a suite of connected field tools now used across farming, horticulture and wildfire fighting worldwide, chief executive Michael Whittaker says.

The company began as TrackMap, offering GPS-guided proof of placement for fertiliser trucks, and repositioned about five years ago, he says.

“A lot of our customers are operating six or seven different apps during the day,” Whittaker says.

Its platform pulls those disparate tools into one view.

Data collection is the foundation for whatever AI becomes, says Whittaker. “AI is a technology that’s never going to arrive because it’s already here.”
