Tabula is building its own AI platform to keep customer data inside the business as they celebrate 20 years after the company started out as TracMap.
Tabula chief executive Michael Whittaker says the company holds billions of data points of agricultural intelligence.
“I think AI is really bringing some challenging decisions to certainly companies like ourselves,” he says.
Whittaker says TracMap began with in-field GPS guidance for fertiliser spreading, and Tabula now has technology in 16 countries, from rodent control on remote islands to firefighting in Greece.
He says autonomy will play a big part over the next 20 years, with Australia ahead of New Zealand on autonomous vehicles because of its scale.
“We’re gonna be able to automate a lot of those processes that were very time-consuming.”
