Co-founder Bryce McKenzie says the group has campaigned on quitting the Paris Agreement for two years now.

“It’s actually not a binding agreement,” he says.

He says a 2023 Treasury costing put the cost of buying carbon credits offshore at between $3.4 billion and $24.7 billion.

He says food security is becoming paramount across the world, and buyers will still need New Zealand product whether or not it stays in Paris.
