Fern Energy chief executive Chris Gourley says diesel supply for New Zealand farmers is less of a challenge at the moment.

“We’re getting supply, and we’re able to actually service our customers through this busy period,” he says.

The pressure has shifted to price.

“This whole price challenge is really starting to hit across the farming community.”

Prices have come down over the past fortnight, with drops of 60 cents and 30 cents.

“There’s no supply issues,” he says, “but man, it’s impacting and burning on price.”
