Dairy farmers can now feed data straight from LIC’s MINDA into DairyNZ’s DairyBase, cutting double handling. The link went live last week and fills about 20% of DairyBase’s physical form automatically, with DairyBase manager Jodie Goudswaard saying they are building towards 30%.

“You’re already entering that data once into MINDA, so why do you enter it again?” she says.

Deaths, cows, days in milk, peak cow numbers, lameness and mastitis data all flow through, with reproduction and fertility data to follow. She says Fonterra milk data is next.
