A lifestyle property run as a wedding venue near Tauranga is going to tender on 4 August through a no-price campaign, with a rateable value just short of $3 million for land and buildings.
Bayleys Lifestyle and Rural Property specialists Phil and Robyn Mangos are is selling the property, and say the current owners are a family who set it up as a lifestyle business about 15 years ago.
“The gardens are amazing,” Phil says.
“They’re really well-designed with separate areas. It just has this beautiful flow to it.”
The property sits at 644 Pyes Pa Road, close to The Crossing on the highway between Rotorua and Tauranga.
“So many people have been married there, it’s the perfect wedding venue.”
Robyn Mangos, who left an accountancy career to join the business three years ago, says the owners built it around a family lifestyle.
“They designed it for that lifestyle balance,” she says.
“So the daughter’s living there with her husband and children, so she’s there when they get off the bus, and yet she’s also available to run the business.”
The venue is consented for 150 people, with 40 car parks, a 500sqm building and a 150sqm marquee. Phil says he expects interest well north of the rateable value once the business is included.
He says the wider lifestyle market in the Bay of Plenty is strong.
“Just between the end of March and last week, we’ve moved over $23 million worth of lifestyle real estate.
“We’re probably the fastest growing region in New Zealand.”
Buyers are coming from across New Zealand and Australia, including from Auckland, Kapiti and the South Island.
“We’ve seen Kiwi expats come back from Australia, buying sight unseen even.”
Robyn says the business could go beyond weddings.
“There’s potential to take this to another level with corporate events, conferences or you could pursue running a cafe out of it,” she says.
“If you go have a wedding here, you’ll never forget it.”
