Newly launched platform ‘Huntable’ matches hunters with farmers, letting landowners set their own price for hunters. Co-founders Gail Radburnd and Mitch Tucker say this has been ranging from $50 to clear pests up, to about $140 for a trophy deer hunt.

Radburnd says some farmers are focused on pest control.

“They want people out there hunting. They don’t care what hunters get from it; they just want the pests gone,” she says.

Tucker says farmers list their property for free, stay in full control, and vet hunters through their profiles, while hunters pay a subscription and pass verification that includes uploading a firearms licence.

The first 100 hunters will be personally called and vetted by the team.

“We want to make sure that hunters are well verified, and the farmer quality is there,” he says.

The platform is launching gradually, with the full version expected to launch within two to four weeks.
