Rural professionals have put more focus on their own wellbeing after two years of low prices and high interest rates, says Gary Massicks, agribusiness consultant at BakerAg.

“It wasn’t unusual that we’d walk into the office and we’d talk as a team about how many people we had cry this week, and that’s just our clients,” he says.

He says the pressure also lands on advisors.

“We’ve got to be in a good place to give the best advice.”

He says younger staff coming through the industry need support to better handle it.
