The Campaign for Wool’s mobile Wool in Schools container has now reached more than 33,000 students, with a recent two-week stop at Lee Stream School and its 12 pupils.

Chair Ryan Cosgrove says the primary school programme is the campaign’s favourite project.

“They’re just radical little marketers,” he says.

He says pupils go home after learning about wool carpet and quiz their parents on what the family’s carpet and curtains are made of.

He says wool awareness is rising across New Zealand, the United Kingdom and North America, and the programme now has a ‘bulging’ wait list.
