A new 10-week pilot programme is bringing agricultural education to about 50 to 60 students across four lower central North Island schools.

Steve Hollander, founder and sponsorship acquisition manager for the New Zealand Rural Games Trust says there are plans to roll it out nationwide.

“There was a gap,” he says.

The scheme, run with the Ministry of Youth Development, targets schools that cannot offer strong ag pathways.
