A New Zealand-built app that predicts worm contamination paddock by paddock has launched, giving sheep farmers a tool to cut drench use and lift lamb growth. South Canterbury vet and DAGI founder Ryan Luckman says the app models where worms sit in their lifecycle from grazing, drench and faecal egg count data, then ranks paddocks red to green.

“This actually mathematically tracks that and predicts it,” he says.

He says despite this, decisions still stay with the farmer. Luckman says a beta user was ‘just winging’ drench resistance management before, but is now using the app’s abilities in his systems.

The app is available through the DAGI website.
