Māori agribusiness is diversifying its land use across 1.7 million hectares of Māori freehold land in deliberate, measured steps, says Charles Taituha, general manager of Māori agribusiness at Beef + Lamb New Zealand.

“It might look quite slow sometimes, but they’re very, very calculated, and I think we’re seeing more and more people take slightly more risk,” he says.

He says the gains come from working together.

“We can’t fight this thing alone.”
