Identifying untapped opportunities in emissions credit value chain
Selling methane credits to offshore buyers strips the reduction out of New Zealand’s value chain, says Ruth Leary, head of strategy and engagement at AgriZero.
She says verified mitigation protocols now let farmers earn from proven tools, but much of the demand comes from offshore.

The alternative AgriZero is weighing keeps the emissions saving attached to the product itself.
“In-setting is much more a preferred approach in New Zealand when we’re actually trying to maintain competitive advantage.”
