Pāmu is sending family recipe cards out to food banks alongside its donated mince. They donate $25,000 a year to Meet the Need, representing a beast from each of its more than 112 farms.

Engagement and programmes manager Terri Anderson says the recipes come from an internal competition and include recipes like smuggled bean spag bol and Great Nana’s kumara pie.

“The idea was to reconnect our farmers a little bit with the fact that they’re providing really high-quality protein to families in need,” she says.

“One of the food banks told us that the mum said that she’s been teaching her teenage son to cook using the recipe cards, which is awesome.”
