Charolais breed surging in popularity
Buyers recognise the explosive growth and yield potential of Charolais cattle. Words Sam Holland, President of Charolais Breeders New Zealand.
The New Zealand Charolais breed is surging in popularity across both beef and dairy markets. Delivering more bottom-line profit across almost every production system is ensuring the breed is well placed within the beef industry.
Charolais cross cattle have featured strongly in sales, regularly topping markets across both store and prime sales over the past 12 months. Buyers recognise the explosive growth and yield potential these cattle contain. Breeder finishers are also enjoying the gains the breed is delivering.
Crossbreeding is improving the efficiency and viability of their farming businesses.
To anyone not currently using Charolais genetics, I would encourage you to research and discover just how their use could make you more money.
Members of Charolais Breeders New Zealand are committed to providing the best bulls to commercial NZ farmers and there will be a fantastic selection of bulls available both at auction and privately across NZ over the next few months.
