Farmers should treat biodiversity and carbon markets with caution while they are still in their infancy, says Ekos chief executive and founder Sean Weaver. In May NZ traded the largest volume of biodiversity credits in the world.

“It’s not a reflection on how good we are, it’s a reflection of how bad the global market is,” he says.

“It’s very young and underdeveloped, so a bit of caution is needed there for people.”
