Kristi Wright has taken over as executive director of the Fairlight Foundation, stepping into the role on 1 September following in the footsteps of contributing founder Laura Koot.

“Laura’s done some amazing things, and she’s definitely put her stamp on this foundation,” Wright says.

“I’ll just keep building on what’s working because something’s working.”

The foundation runs a 12-month programme taking on three interns a year, and will have 18 graduates once this year’s group finishes.

Wright says her focus is bringing the alumni back together and rebuilding the foundation’s social media after the accounts were hacked earlier in the year.

“In agriculture in New Zealand, women are definitely underrepresented in the management and leadership pipeline.”
