Adoption of dairy automation and monitoring technology on the West Coast has been steady, with plenty of Protrack systems already on farms.

MSD Animal Health South Island sales lead Laura Christensen, speaking at AgFest West Coast 2026 in Greymouth, says SenseHub Dairy now ties together brands such as Protrack, Allflex and DataFlow.

“Bringing the monitoring journey to them with SenseHub Dairy has been really rewarding,” she says.

Christensen says dealer Geoff Evans handles contracted work, getting technicians on farm quickly when something goes wrong.

She says relationships on the Coast have been the big thing for the team.

“You almost become part of the family to an extent.”
