Wine industry mentees have the opportunity to be paired with mentors from other parts of the industry to learn about other career paths.

New Zealand Winegrowers leadership and communities manager Nicky Grandorge says the six-month programme is open to any role, from viticulture to export and general management.

“Sometimes making a decision on which way to go is where people feel a bit stuck,” she says.

Grandorge says it began as a Women in Wine initiative in 2018 and has run in its combined form since 2019.

She says some mentees have moved from casual jobs into permanent roles within the six months.
