This was brought to you in partnership with EcoLab.

Ecolab’s NextGen Solids replaces the liquid detergents used in dairy sheds with solid capsules, removing the 200-litre drums farmers handle by hand. Darren Stenning, Business Development Lead at Ecolab, and the team put the system on show at Fieldays.

“We’re taking the weight out of farming, with no more drums,” he says.

“It’s about sustainability in dairying.”

The product has been on the market for just over a year.

Each box holds four 3kg capsules, and every capsule makes 20 litres of chemical, in both alkaline and acid.

“It’s contactless, it removes all of that risk, so there’s no appetite for risk anymore with handling our chemistries.”

The unit does more than mix detergent.

“It’s not only a titration machine that makes the detergents up, but it’s also a pumping machine, so if you don’t have any dispensing in your plant, this will do both jobs for you.”
