Mid Canterbury spring grass takes off after a slow start
A slow spring has turned into a flush of grass, opening the window for mowing and baling.
Listen to the full interview:
A Mount Somers farmer says he will bale grass from a paddock in the next day or so.
North South Farmer Panel member Duncan Humm says spring was slow to start. “Now she’s just exploding.”
He says the election campaign has dragged on for months. “I’m just sick to death of watching it … just get it over with.”
Humm says he likes to vote on election day at the polling booth near his home and catch up with neighbours.
He says the election is a big topic on the New Zealand Farming Facebook page, where some people want more of it and some want less.
