Steve Chapell, programme manager for the New Zealand National Field Days Society says fifty-eight entries have been selected for the 2026 Field Days Innovation Awards, with finalists to be announced next week.

A team of 23 judges is working through the categories, with the top five in each to be revealed mid next week and winners named on the Thursday night of Field Days.

“AI is huge this year,” he says, with classic Kiwi ingenuity remaining front and centre.

The awards carry a $75,000 prize package, with Amazon Web Services as the naming rights sponsor.

“Not a bad sponsor to have.”
