Consultant wants dispute agency restored in Sharemilking Act review
Labour’s plan to review the Sharemilking Act is drawing calls for a dispute agency to be reinstated. Louise Gibson, managing director and co-founder of The Sharefarming Consultant, says the review should have happened 10 years ago.
She says contract milkers do not have the protection of the Employment Protection Authority.
“They are required to litigate any disputes themselves,” she says.
“I would really love to see an agency reinstated, so similar to what we had basically for most of the last century.”
