Apologies to Jordan Williams
On 7 May 2026, during an episode of Radio NZ’s The Panel with Sarah Perriam-Lampp and Ben Thomas on RNZ, I made comments about Jordan Williams concerning allegations involving Maiki Sherman, Walt Cavendish, Federated Farmers and the Fear for Farmers campaign.
In those comments, I suggested that Mr Williams’ responses indicated that he was not being truthful, was being evasive, or was concealing information about the matters I was discussing. Having reviewed the interview, I accept that those suggestions were wrong. Mr Williams answered my questions directly, and I had no evidence that he was dishonest, evasive, or concealing anything.
I also accept that I had no factual basis to suggest that Mr Williams had any involvement in, knowledge of, or coordination of the matters I was discussing.
I withdraw those statements and implications unreservedly and I will not repeat the allegations or substantially similar allegations in the future.
I apologise to Mr Williams for making those inaccurate statements and for the damage they caused to his reputation.
Kind Regards,
Sarah Perriam-Lampp
